 The National Centre for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases aims to improve and promote GI services in Sudan by assisting in the development of GI services including endoscopy units, as well as HBV & HCV screening and HBV vaccination centres and campaigns throughout the country.

Ibn Sina GI Center is a major tertiary care facility where all patients with complicated liver disease, viral disease, or liver tumor are treated with low-cost services and medication.

Fighting HBV program began in 2016, followed by the development of HBV strategy and local guidelines.

The liver clinic established in 2000 and was segmented In 2020 to HBV clinic and chronic liver disease (CLD) clinic (including all CLD complications, even CLD due to HBV).
